studyspanishandsurf.com is a scam ripoff

Hello. I'm writing as a co-founder of a Spanish language school in El Salvador, The El Salvador Spanish Schools. A few years ago we were approached by someone with bad spelling, about sending students to our program in El Salvador.

We are always hungry for students, so we agreed to consider some sort of commission. Our prices leave little room for commissions, but we've worked well with other language school recruiters.

But Warwick White and the studyspanishandsurf.com website then proceeded to rip off the text and photos from our website and recreate it on their own. When we protested and refused to pay them a commission for students who contacted us directly, they proceeded to post a warning on their website:

"Important notice: We are not currently recommending students travel to La Libertad to Study Spanish and surf due to safety concerns. Please look at the other location options, especially Panama"

The above paragraph is misinformation, a deliberate attempt to steer students away from a school that refuses to pay these ripoff artists. We've had no safety issues with students in La Libertad or anywhere else. Lots of surfers and travelers are visiting El Salvador's beautiful beaches and volcanoes and Mayan ruins safely.

When you are shopping for language schools, please beware the websites that offer programs in many countries...these are scams that charge small independent language schools a commission for doing nothing more than maintaining a copycat website that confuses students.
